Assistant Event Manager – 4 Posts – 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships

The Event
In 2023, Glasgow and locations across Scotland are hosting the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships, bringing together 13 world championships into one. Glasgow Life will deliver the sport competition, events and other programmes in the city on behalf of Cycling World Championships and is expanding its team to deliver the world’s biggest ever cycling event. Glasgow leads the way in hosting major cultural and sporting events, using world class facilities we’ll deliver 8 cycling disciplines bringing new ideas, partnerships and initiatives to the city, enriching urban living by animating the city in the lead up to and beyond the event to drive lasting legacy to the city.
The Role
As Assistant Event Manager your role will include:
Assist the Event Manager with the planning of allocated venue(s), ensuring it is planned and delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, relevant technical regulations, stakeholder expectations and within the approved governance structure of the Championships
Support the venue development and design process for allocated venue(s), working closely with all operational Workstreams in particular with the Sport, Safety, Security &; Medical and Venue, Development & Overlay and in collaboration with key stakeholders
Project manage operational planning processes and develop key documentation for allocated venue(s) including Event Operating Plans, Daily Run Sheets and accompanying policies and procedures
Support issue resolution to progress and resolve matters across all operational Workstreams
Manage a team of Coordinators, volunteers and contractors to plan and deliver the allocated venue(s) accordingly
To be considered for this post you’ll have:
Employment experience as an Event Manager, Assistant Event Manager, or Venue Operations Manager of major events. Experience of working with contractors and suppliers, and the ability to prioritise workload within a multi-disciplined environment, meeting pre-determined deadlines and ensuring work is accurate and methodical.
