BUZZERS ACADEMIES MANAGER

Our Buzzers Academies operate every school holiday and half-term. They are aimed at boys and girls aged 4 (Reception class) to 12 years and are designed to suit all sporting interests and abilities. We cover a variety of sports and activities, from Team Sports to Dance, Gymnastics and Confidence Building Games. We also offer Arts & Craft activities and occasional ‘Special Events’ such as Archery, Taekwondo, First Aid, Fencing, Boxing, Percussion, Sand Art and Paralympic Events.
Role Purpose –
Oversee all Buzzers Academy staff and sites in all aspects of strategic development, delivery, planning, resourcing and implementation. To ensure that all Buzzers Academy sites and staff working within them, are adhering to Teachsport and Ofsted policies, standards and expectations.
In this role, your accountabilities and responsibilities are –
Be directly responsible for the development and implementation of all Buzzers Academy sites.
Report back to the Managing Director each day with your findings and feedback from each Academy site and individual staff where necessary.
Support each Academy ‘Lead’ tutor with the day to day operation of their Academy site.
Lead, manage, develop and inspire a team to achieve high levels of performance and childcare.
Implement a management programme of continuous improvement, to identify and improve systems and processes that maximise efficiency and delivery of every Academy site.
Identify, build, negotiate and develop relationships with all Academy staff to ensure optimum provision and continued improvement.
Liaise with parents and adhere to their on-site needs and requests.
To deal with and follow-up any parent complaints.
Gather and interpret relevant staff and parent feedback.
Liaise extensively with Academy staff and promote relevant cross-team collaboration to share learning and maximise effectiveness and efficiency within all Academies.
Play an integral role in the development of Buzzers Academies, identifying and progressing opportunities for development and innovation.
Provide reports and updates of important and relevant information, to the Managing Director, in a timely manner.
Act as a point of contact on accident, incident and emergency situations within an Academy.
To replenish, replace and update any First Aid items, Academy documentation and equipment wherever possible.
Fill in for any staff absences or shortages wherever and whenever necessary.
Work collaboratively with all Academy staff and contribute industry knowledge and expertise whenever necessary.
Maintain expert knowledge of relevant industry legislation and best practice e.g. Ofsted, afPE and DoE, and be responsible for implementing within the Academies, with particular emphasis on Risk Assessment, Incident Management and Health & Safety requirements.
Track, monitor and analyse ongoing performances of all Academy staff and provide reports as required by the Managing Director.
Ensure that all communications support Teachsport and Buzzers Academy’s agreed Brand guidelines.
Be familiar with and adhere to all relevant Teachsport and Buzzers Academy policies and procedures at all times.
Keep up to date with all messages posted on the staff WhatsApp group and contribute wherever necessary. This may include evenings and weekends.
Be responsible for posting all ‘out of hours’ Academy updates and notifications using the staff WhatsApp group.
Be available for phone calls, emails and messages with ‘Lead’ Academy tutors and the Managing Director wherever possible, within 7 days of an Academy start date and during school holiday periods. This may include evening and weekends.
Attend, lead and support delivery of all Buzzers Academy staff meetings and training sessions, including those outside of school holiday periods.
Any other duties as reasonably required in line with skills, knowledge, and experience to contribute to the wider success of Buzzers Academies.
To do this role, you will have –
A minimum Level 1 coaching award or teaching equivalent.
Experience and knowledge of working in the Sports, Education and Childcare industries.
A clear an enhanced DBS certificate.
An up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
An up to date Safeguarding Children certificate.
Ability to recognise and asses an Ofsted outstanding level of provision.
Understanding of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment policies and procedures.
IT literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of people management and leadership.
Excellent time-keeping.
Proven Project Management skills.
Experience of managing multiple projects/events at same time.
Experience of managing small budgets.
A full and clean UK driving licence.
