The Organisation:

Equestrian Australia (EA) is the peak body for the administration of Equestrian Sport in Australia. The organisation manages four Olympic / Paralympic disciplines and four non-Olympic disciplines. The Role:

EA is seeking a talented and passionate Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. If you are proactive, creative, and collaborative individual, committed to driving meaningful change through digital communications this could be the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing the corporate communications for EA;
  2. Delivery and implementation of the communication plan;
  3. Content creation across website, social media with a mix of copywriting, design and video editing;
  4. Simplifying strategic communications for all audiences;
  5. Managing Crisis Communications (where necessary)
  6. Proactively pitching stories (old and new) for external media and internal
  7. Creating marketing campaigns to support sustainable sport growth
  8. Rebuilding and maintaining the website functionality and content to promote and deliver the sport of Equestrian;
  9. Managing the social media accounts including content creation, analytics and keeping abreast of trends to grow the digital footprint and engagement;
  10. Member communications including eDMs to add value, educate and inform the community;
  11. Supporting communications for campaigns to grow the Equestrian Disciplines;
  12. Research, develop and deliver content that drives engagement and results connected to the strategic plan;
  13. Liaison with departments and teams to create the content management plan and coordinate promotion and execution of the key communication messages; and
  14. Proactively supporting senior management with corporate communications and change management messaging as part of the industry restructure and shared services for the sport.

Key Requirements:

  1. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  2. Tertiary qualification in communications, media or marketing
  3. Experience working with website content management systems (CMS), email programs and social media platforms
  4. High attention-to-detail, and adaptable approach as operating in a fast-paced environment

Desirables:

  1. 8+ years’ experience in similar roles, ideally within sporting organisations
  2. Knowledge or interest in Equestrian preferred but not essential
