Job Description
The Development Officer (Family & CYP Weight Management) will focus on the development and delivery of a children and families weight management service in order to tackle the high levels of obesity and in doing so improve both physical and mental health. Aligned to obesity as 1 of the 3 key priorities for Sefton, the post will also be integral to the Start Well programme of work, whilst supporting the ‘Move It’ children’s weight management programme and developing a new offer for families with 0–5-year-olds.
The role involves contact with a wide range of individuals and organisations from health professionals, service providers, schools, to children, young people, and their families. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential elements for the post.
The role will also involve supporting colleagues within the team deliver our commissioned services around reducing anti-social behaviour, health interventions, and Active Schools delivery (after school clubs and healthy eating workshops in schools), using sport and physical activity as a tool to engage people and deliver relevant projects.
