About the Duty Manager role

The Duty Manager role is critical for providing operational oversight and support for activities and events occurring at our Albert Park and our Parkville locations. The Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring all patrons and staff are kept safe while in the venue and all hazards are prevented proactively.

Day-to-day duties include; incident response and coordination, incident database management and accurate report writing, ensuring integrity of security systems, maintaining compliance records, contractor supervision, and access control within the venue.

It is the Duty Manager’s responsibility to understand all activities and movement within the venue during its operating hours. Our Duty Managers are the first point of call for all escalations, first aids/emergencies and facilities trouble shooting. They bring all departments together and ensure all operational staff during the day/shift are aware of important impacts or activities to the venue and how that may impact access, events, bookings, departments, staff and tenants. 

About you 

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate the following

  • Experience in a Supervisor or Management position is a must! 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet when things do not go to plan
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Effective leadership skills that aid in your ability to communicate well, motivate staff, and provide or receive feedback
  • The ability to confidently operate both autonomously and as a part of team
  • Attention to detail and refined time management skills
  • Experience in controlling emergency response situations within a multi-faceted venue
  • Quick learner, with the ability to understand and interpret new policies and procedures
  • You must hold current CPR, First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation qualifications. You will also need be accredited as a Pool Lifeguard.
