Job Description
JOB TITLE: Event Operations Manager
START DATE: May 2023
JOB TYPE: Full-time (Including weekend work)
SALARY: £26k – 30k (Depending on experience)
BASED: Hersham, Surrey (Travel is involved for events)
TYPE OF WORK: Events/Office-based/Remote working
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 2+ years event experience at managerial level
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and hard-working individual to join the Operations Team at RunThrough. At RunThrough we strive to be excellent at what we do and have fun whilst doing so. We are always on the lookout for development opportunities, moments to grow, while helping our staff reach their potential.
We are looking for a candidate to manage and support the delivery of cutting-edge and professional mass-participation running and triathlon events. You shall complete the daily tasks of event management to include, but not restricted to, managing the operations team, managing relationships with our vendors, creating and presenting planning documentation, and ensuring high-standards are maintained in relation to preparation and delivery of events.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Managing the delivery of running and triathlon events on the day – to include setting up courses, briefing marshals and riding a lead bike in front of the race.
Maintain and develop relationships with our medical providers, vendors and suppliers.
Source new potential suppliers and service providers.
Assisting the Senior Operations Manager in the day to day management of the operations team.
Create and update event management plans and risk assessments.
Lead on the internal planning of events.
Retrieve appropriate event documentation prior to the event days.
Essential Skills and Requirements
Passionate about physical activity, running and triathlon.
Excellent time management, organisation and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and remotely during the week.
Willing to work regular weekends.
Strong IT skills.
Knowledge of the U.K running and triathlon industry.
Full driving licence and comfortable driving a van.
Desirable Attributes
Previous experience managing sporting events.
Previous experience managing staff.
Previous experience creating detailed planning documentation.
Working within a multidisciplinary team.
