The Organisation:

Equestrian Australia (EA) is the peak body for the administration of Equestrian Sport in Australia. The organisation manages four Olympic / Paralympic disciplines and four non-Olympic disciplines. The Role:

The Finance Manager is responsible for playing a lead role in the financial and strategic management of Equestrian Australia (EA) to enable the long-term sustainability of operations.

This will be achieved through the following: –

  1. Developing and managing a best practice finance management to facilitate quality and timely service to the EA board, executive team, stakeholders and members
  2. Producing financial modelling, key financial analysis and information in support of business strategy
  3. Responsible for the Finance Management for EA including: –
    • accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting;
    • compiling financial reports in accordance with approved policies and procedures which meet statutory requirements;
    • providing and interpreting timely and relevant financial information
  4. Developing and maintaining organisational/financial policies and making policy recommendations
  5. Business partnering with CEO, Senior Leadership Team, EA Board and Finance Risk & Audit Committee (FRAC)
  6. Developing and maintaining effective financial information systems, which meet the needs of the organisation
  7. Managing the National Insurance Program

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or equivalent
  2. CA or CPA qualified
  3. Minimum 6+ years’ experience
  4. Sport industry knowledge is a plus but not essential

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Relevant experience and a proven track record in financial management
  2. Strategy support including analysis, insights and financial modelling
  3. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
  4. Change management and process improvement
  5. Ability to cope with tight deadlines and multiple, competing priorities
  6. Effective oral and written communication skills
