Position:
First Team Physiotherapist (Full-time)
Salary: Competitive
Department:First team medical department
Reporting To: First Team Manager
Overall Objective:
Lead the club’s medical department delivering outstanding levels of care and meeting all medical needs of the club’s first team players.
Be responsible for the provision of physiotherapy and first aid services to the NTFC First team.
Job Description
• Take overall responsibility for physiotherapy and all first team medical matters and provide leadership for the medical department
• Manage and develop staff within the medical department and support the academy physiotherapist
• Ensure first team players have the appropriate medical treatment and care at all times providing medical screening and physical tests
• To ensure appropriate soft tissue and manual therapy interventions are carried out to a high standard for all first team players.
• Provide appropriate medical cover at all training sessions and fixtures including traveling with the first team to away fixtures
• Manage injury assessment and the medical treatment of all first team player and young professionals
• Work closely with the sports science department and take responsibility for rehabilitation programmes for injured players
• Working with the sports science department design bespoke programmes for first team squad players to both prevent injuries and help to manage players with known medical needs
• Provide regular medical updates and supply any important medical information on first team players to the management staff
• Ensure medical compliance with regulations including cardiac screening
• Arrange appointments for scans and referrals with consultants and specialists where required
• Work closely with the Club Doctor to ensure all players have the appropriate medical care
• Book players in for medical procedures where required and coordinate with management staff and the clubs medical insurers
• To ensure that appropriate and comprehensive medical notes are completed in line with CSP/HCPC/ GDPR standards.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders as required
• Take responsibility for the design and implementation of a robust medical examinations process for incoming players and provide medical advice to the Manager and CEO
• Take responsibility for all medical equipment ensuring it is in good working order, well maintained and transported to required locations
• Manage stock levels of medical supplies and consumables
• Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time
• Recruit and manage a team of interns as required to assist in day to day operations
• Strictly carry out responsibilities with due regard to the club values and policies and procedures including but not limited to safeguarding, health and safety, equality diversity and inclusion, safer recruitment.

Person Specification
Essential
• Minimum of three years previous experience in an elite sports environment
• BSc/MSc Physiotherapy
• HCPC registered
• FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management Qualification (ATMMiF) or willing to acquire.
• FA Safeguarding Qualification.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team.
• To work flexible hours as the role requires – including evenings, weekends, public holidays.
• A commitment to continuing professional development.
• Based within close commutable distance to the club or willingness to relocate
Desirable
Additional requirements that would be ideal but not a requirement for shortlisting. For example:
• Hold a full driving license
