About the Position:
Your key responsibilities will include;
- Adhere to Active Monash’s Service Improvement Program’s key focus areas; cleanliness and presentation, presence and supervision, communication, staff appearance and professionalism.
- Assist with operational needs such as welcoming new members, providing training advice, technique correction, generate feedback and cleaning of equipment.
- Conduct thorough health assessments and design individualised fitness programs for patrons.
- Provide high level of customer service to patrons at all times whilst allowing them to ‘participate their way’.
- Positively promote the benefits of fitness programs and retention initiatives within the centre.
- Develop and foster a positive culture amongst patrons and promote other fitness and recreation activities.
- Implement and follow all relevant centre wide and gym policies and procedures.
- Report major and minor issues concerning gym members or the facility to the Member Experience Team Leader.
- Provide a professional public image and maintain a safe, informative and friendly gym environment.
- Collect statistical information regarding patronage.
- Conduct group exercise sessions when required within scope of practice.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience in providing exercise and fitness assistance to a range of demographics within the community.
- Sound communication, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in assessing physical fitness and developing individual fitness programs.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to varying tasks and priorities.
- A desire to progress to a Personal Training role and develop a client base.
- Wide range of availability compatible with operational hours and needs.
Additional requirements:
- Completion of Certificate III in Fitness or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Sound knowledge and technical skills in prescribing and supervising one on one and group exercise
- A demonstrated commitment to providing high levels of customer service.
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Right to Work in Australia
- Current Working with Children’s Check.
- Satisfactory National Police Check;
- Registration with AUSActive.
