THE CLUB
Well-known for its friendly welcoming atmosphere, Fishermen’s Bend Gymnastic Club has recently relocated to a new venue and due to strong membership growth is looking for several coaches to cater for the expected demand in 2023. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who value continued education, adopt a holistic style to teaching and believe in a team approach to delivering quality, well-rounded programs. These positions are advertised as casual but we are certainly open to structuring a permanent part time position for the right candidate.
THE ROLE
We have several positions across a range of programs which all involve the following:
- Inspire and teach children
- Dedication to continuous and life-long personal development
- Celebrate progress and achievement, by playing a key role in FBGC events
- Be part of the team, attending and contributing to staff training and meetings
- Keep fit and strong moving equipment and spotting gymnasts
- Be a leader and positive role model in our community
- Casual position with regular school-term hours and school holidays off
- Port Melbourne location close to CBD
Kindergym Coaches:
- Facilitate the fundamental movement development of our preschool gymnasts through play
- Create excitement and foster gymnast participation in our weekly themed lessons
- Share your knowledge of gymnastics and movement development with gymnasts and their parents
- Follow set lesson plans, proving feedback and contributing ideas to ensure the constant improvement of the program
- Opportunity for career advancement into program management for the right person
Launchpad Coaches:
- Lead the development of our school aged gymnasts through our launchpad program
- Follow set lesson plans, adapting as required to meet gymnast needs
- Complete skill testing to ensure the gymnasts can progress at their own pace
- Prepare gymnasts for competitions, displays as well as attending a playing a key role in these events
- We offer programs from prep beginners through to advanced recreational gymnasts, tumbling and a launchpad league where gymnasts train higher hours and can compete
Squad Coaches:
- Create a class environment that fosters gymnasts to be intrinsically motivated to achieve
- Plan and deliver a well rounded program based on the FBGC syllabus and competition requirements
- Carry out physical and skill testing to monitor and optimise performance
- Prepare and coach gymnasts to success at competitions
- We are particularly interested in coaches for our foundation program (presquad, ALP 1-2 equivalent, non-competing) but offer up to ALP 4 and have gymnasts competing in AGC in 2023.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone who is experienced and passionate about a career in gymnastics and inspiring children to be the best version of themselves. The hourly rate will reflect your experience and qualifications (the advertised rate is the adult wage but 15-19yr olds are welcome to apply for a position at our junior rate).
