Bowls Scotland is one of the biggest participation sports in Scotland with 820 clubs and just under 50,000 playing club members. Bowls is at the heart of almost every community and is one of the most successful Scottish sports at Commonwealth, World and European level.

We are seeking an experienced, ambitious, professional leader to drive the High Performance component of our new strategy from 2023-2027. The Head of High Performance Bowls will lead High Performance with additional focus on the competitions programme and coaching structure that all contribute to making Bowls Scotland

Building on the successes of the past, we require the post holder to work with stakeholders, partners, players, coaches, staff and volunteers to create a winning mentality and culture, identify and develop the current and emerging talented player cohort within Scotland, and support the development of all that makes a winning performance environment.

You’ll be experienced in developing and delivery strategy, creating athlete/coach development pathways, operational plans and be able to lead, develop and deliver cultural change to create a world class mentality. This will be complemented by your excellent
communication skills which enable you to collaborate and build positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups. This exciting new role offers a challenging, wide reaching, and hugely rewarding opportunity for someone with the appropriate skills, who is
ready to make their next career move.

You’ll be supported and empowered by our CEO, Director of High Performance (Board position), committed Board of Directors and driven staff team who bring a wealth of expertise and share a passion for bowls to succeed. You’ll be encouraged to develop and gain access to a range of learning opportunities.
