Job Description
About The Role
NTU Sport proudly supports talented athletes and those who play sport purely for fun, helping each individual to achieve their personal goals; we encourage all our students and staff to follow an active, healthy lifestyle; and we are pleased to welcome the wider community onto campus to take advantage of our world-class sports facilities.
We are looking for a new Head of Hockey, to lead and coordinate one of the highest performance programmes at the university. You will be responsible for ensuring training sessions and match days are appropriately coached and staffed, and as the programme develops you will also be responsible for increasing the volume of the programme.
You will take a leading role developing the programme for both teams and individual athletes supporting our student-athlete focus programme. Managing a team of staff you will work closely with a range of support service practitioners, and coordinate with a variety of external partners including NGB’s and professional clubs.
About You
You will have a strong understanding of the broad range of support services and elements required to provide an effective high performance athlete environment, and how to develop performance hockey players as both student-athletes and people. You will be conscientious with good communication, influencing and team working skills. In addition, you will need to be adaptable and have a flexible approach to work with availability to work evenings and weekends where necessary.
Interview Dates: w/c 15th May/22nd May 2023
