Job Description
Scottish Volleyball, in partnership with FIVB and sportscotland, is seeking to recruit a High-Performance Beach Coach and Programme Manager to plan, implement and lead the development of our High-Performance Beach athletes and programmes in Scotland, adding expertise, value and focus to our national beach development initiatives and deliver on our performance planning objectives.
This post is initially offered for a 12-month fixed term contract. Subsequent funding for a continuation of the High-Performance Head Coach and Programme Manager position (past the initial 12-month appointment) will be dependent on a review of the role and the positive results against outcomes set within the initial appointment. The successful candidate will share our passion and vision for the development of High-Performance beach volleyball and the appointed person will be required to demonstrate a proven record of successful work with elite beach athletes and programmes. Knowledge required for the role includes finance management, project delivery, IT, and statistical analysis, together with excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills. (Spoken English is essential). Required also is the ability to influence, network and develop elite coaching and coaching contacts successfully within beach volleyball at an international level.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
High Performance Coaching
• Facilitate the achievement of Scottish Volleyball’s beach volleyball key performance indicators, inclusive of qualification for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games.
• Lead the recruitment of athletes, coaches and support and staff and effectively management their development.
• Lead the Scottish National Beach Team to provide differentiated and developmentally appropriate training and competition experiences for selected athletes.
• Actively engage partnerships with other National Federations and organisations to facilitate programme, athlete, and coach development opportunities.
• Support the development of a national network of qualified coaches to effectively identify high potential players. Identify, evaluate, select, recruit, and train network personnel on key processes and procedures.
• Support the creation and effective utilisation of feedback reports and individual development plans for selected athletes.
Programme Management
• Lead the development and implementation of resources through effective financial planning and management. Develop and monitor annual budgets.
• Support the development and implementation of reports to evaluate and report upon athlete progress, athlete, coach, and parent engagement, stakeholder satisfaction, and programme impact.
• Support requests for written and verbal reports for internal and external stakeholders and present departmental programme information as requested.
• Coordinate with Scottish Volleyball competitions officer and performance management group to improve quality and competitiveness of high-performance outlets.
• Coordinate with National Team Coaching Staff to identify opportunities to organise and/or compete in high quality international tournaments and friendlies.
Other
• Deliver high quality, online learning experiences for athletes, Network coaches, clubs, and parents. Coordinate with Scottish Volleyball, the Performance Management Group, National Team Coaching staff (Network coaches), coaches commission, to create and develop a meaningful and engaging curriculum.
• Work with our national sports body and funder sportscotland to deliver coach education in person and online.
• Coordinate with the Scottish Volleyball staff, and National Team Coaching staff to ensure that programmes, philosophies, and language are aligned to that of the Governing body.
• Other duties and projects as assigned
