Job Description
Disability Sports Australia is seeking a Manager for our Northern Territory business unit to oversee the planning and delivery or initiatives in relation to our workplan in place with the Northern Territory Government.
You will support the development of and delivery of adaptive sporting programs across the territory working in partnership with state sporting organisations and other stakeholders to create more opportunities for people with disability to be active.
This is a role that would suit someone who has a strong understanding of the Australian, the Northern Territory sports system. Building strong relationships will be a key part of your role in addition to providing strategic advice to sport organisations. Strong written communication skills in addition to the ability to plan, prioritise work and meet prescribed deadlines is vital.
This is an ongoing role with flexibility regarding the location where the preferred candidate will work from.

Renumeration: $100,000 prorated for 3 days of work per week ($60,000) + superannuation and salary packaging benefit available

DSA marshals the efforts of 12 highly committed and active mainly State-based disability sports groups.
About Disability Sports NT
Disability Sports NT is a key business unit of Disability Sports Australia (DSA) funded by the Northern Territory Government its mission is to enable more people in the Northern Territory with disability to be more active more often.
Reporting to the CEO this role will be responsible for overseeing the planning and delivery of initiatives in accordance with the Northern Territory business unit strategic plan of Disability Sports Australia.
You will also be responsible for delivering on the agreed workplan in place with the Northern Territory Government.
You will also support the delivery of adaptive sporting programs across the territory working in partnership with state sporting bodies to create more opportunities for people with disability to be active.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Connect with peak mainstream sport and recreation bodies to provide disability sport knowledge and guidance.
- Support the delivery of adaptive sporting programs across the territory working in partnership with state sporting associations and other key organisations.
- Build relationships with health professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, hospitals)
- Attend Sport and Active Recreation, School of Sport NT and Disability monthly meetings to provide input on current programs and collaborate on future programs and initiatives to benefit all Territorians.
- Develop National Calendar for inclusion in partnership with School Sport NT, NT Government and other disability sport agencies.
- Attend Inclusive Practice Collective, NT Sport Integrity Network, PLANT (Physical Literacy Approach NT) Workshops, and DiversAbility Collective meetings to advocate for disability sports, collect informed data and collaborate on future events
- Build further capacity for regional areas to participate in sport by providing access to equipment and supporting program development.
- Manage social media channels in collaboration with Communication and Events Officer.
- Regularly meet with relevant stakeholders, NT Gov and PSBs to facilitate the creation and delivery of clinics, programs, and pathways
- Maintain Disability Sports NT website to be up to date.
- Develop strong relationships with Northern Territory Disability Sport agencies such as Clubhouse Territory, Total Recreation NT, Get Skilled Access
- Delivery of Activate Inclusion Sports Days in partnership with stakeholders.
- Grow awareness of Disability Sports Australia Northern Territory Business Unit through promotion and driving uptake of existing programs such as Accessibility Champion
- Engage with tertiary and vocational education institutions to secure DSA NT specific placements for students for targeted programs and functions (where appropriate)
- Adhere to all funding requirements and deliverables.
