The Opportunity…
The EIS and GB Modern Pentathlon have an exciting opportunity for a full time Physiotherapist to work with their World Class Programme in Bath.
A snapshot of the role…
This exciting opportunity will offer the chance to support elite performance across a world class programme, spearheading physiotherapy support by working as part of a high performing and innovative multidisciplinary team. This will include working at incredible training and competition environments across the world.
The role will play a pivotal part in preparing the selected Modern Pentathlon team up to and through the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
As a Physiotherapist within the English Institute of Sport, not only you will become part of a wider Physiotherapy discipline and Athlete Health directorate but you will have a unique professional and personal development opportunity to be fully supported both technically and through coaching and mentorship through innovative Athlete Health initiatives in collaboration with other disciplines.
Modern Pentathlon GB
The GB Modern Pentathlon team has an exceptional record since the 2000 Sydney Olympics, with team members achieving podium performances in 5 of the last 6 Olympic Games. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics the team achieved historic success with Gold medals in both the female & male events & currently, members of the team hold World Champion & European Champion status.
Modern Pentathlon is a challenging sport for the athlete and the practitioner alike and the successful candidate will be immersed in an athlete squad that has to balance power, endurance and technical elements across 5 separate disciplines: Fencing, Show Jumping, Swimming and Laser-Run. This exposure to a multisport athletes competing in one sport with 5 disciplines is unique in the sporting world and offers the successful candidate the capacity to grow and develop as a Multi-sport Sports Physiotherapist.
As the team physiotherapist you will integrate into the very successful high-performance team and have the responsibility of service delivery across World Cups & World Championships, culminating in preparing the athletes for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games
