Job Description
About Us
British Canoeing is the UK Governing Body for Paddlesports. We have had many advances in our sport and paddling now covers a wide range of interests and passions as a sport and a leisure activity for all. We want to support and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and realise their potential within all aspects of paddling regardless of their age, background or ability.
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work
Closing Date: 20th April
Interview Date: 26th April and/or 27th April
Location: National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont Country Park, Nottingham
The Role
The Programmes Support Officer will contribute to the Recreation Team by providing administration, project and reporting support across our programmes which are aimed at helping more people to go paddling more often.
The role includes engaging with communities and organisations which are delivering opportunities for physical activity, monitoring, evaluating and recording of insight and data, developing resources to assist groups to access paddlesports and paddle more often, and engaging with partners, stakeholders and suppliers to establish cost effective options around the delivery of programmes.
We are seeking an individual with a background in sport development who has worked with underrepresented, marginalised or underserved communities to deliver physical activity at a grassroots level. Someone who has an understanding of the elements which motivate or influence recreational activity, as well as having excellent monitoring and evaluation skills, and expertise in planning and communication, with an ability to take initiative and deal with a varied workload whilst maintaining attention to detail.
We recognise the contribution our employees make and think these benefits reflect our appreciation:
– Hybrid working – 2 days a week in the office
– 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
– Option to purchase up to 5 days annual leave (salary sacrifice)
– Pension Scheme, 9% total contribution (salary sacrifice)
– Dress for your day (jeans acceptable)
– Free onsite parking and bike storage
– Find out more about our other benefits in our job pack…
