Job Description
We are the Australian Government agency responsible for supporting and investing in sport at all levels. Who are we
This position is a key contact for Australian National Sporting Organisations, delivering liaison support and other associated logistics services for teams and clients visiting the AIS European Training Centre (ETC).
What we want
In collaboration with the ETC Sports Manager and staff, you will identify and implement forward planning, preparation, and delivery of services for elite sport camps effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will provide liaison support for all aspects of visiting team bookings including accommodation, transport, logistics and support services to high performance teams travelling to Italy (and Europe) to undertake training camps and qualification events for Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The personal attributes associated with living and working in a foreign country are highly significant for anyone employed to live and work at the AIS ETC in Gavirate, Italy.
What the applicant needs
We are looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in business administration, sports-related field or event coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to prepare event outlines and procedure documents
- Critical thinking, attention to detail and experience working in a dynamic environment with the ability to balance competing tasks
- Strong planning and organisational skills and remains at ease in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in Italian is preferable, though not essential
- Ability to work effectively in a small, multi-tasking team environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to living/working overseas
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
The nature of the ETC’s business and its operational requirements mean that work outside of what might be considered ‘normal business hours’ is required. All applicants must be able to obtain the appropriate National Police Clearance to work overseas.
This position is offered as a FIXED TERM position until 1 September 2023.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.
