Urban Rec Sports Club is a premier adult recreational sports organization that operates in major cities across Australia. We offer a variety of sports leagues and events for all adults and skill levels to participate in, including dodgeball, netball, flag football, football, volleyball, soccer, and more.
Our culture is very fun-loving, disruptive, colloquial and social. We pride ourselves on being flexible, and very high performing. We are super professional, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are looking for a League Manager to join our team at Urban Rec Wollongong!
You will be managing a team of 15 casual staff, 100+ teams and be reporting to our General Manager. You will be very autonomous and be required to make quick thinking decisions on your own. The role is full time, Monday to Thursday with some flexibility, so would suit graduates or someone looking to kick-off their career in Sport!
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is good at building relationships with people, and is a natural-born-leader. You should know how to be the life of the party, while also remaining professional and accountable. We need this person to have great administration skills, and a knack for multi-tasking. Running multiple sporting events per night comes with lots of moving parts, and you need to be good at juggling and one step ahead at all times.
- Based in Wollongong
- Have a licence and car, to be able to drive to visit league/sports and events
- Available and flexible to work within our unique hours of operation 12-8pm, daily
- Super organised and high level of admin skills
- You enjoy autonomy in your work and taking initiative
- Some marketing experience or a keen interest to learn
- A confident person, who can think for yourself
- Able to handle conflict, and complaints
- Willing to go to extra lengths to get the job done
- A sport lover who knows all sports
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Driving the recruitment of new teams and individuals to join the club
- Recruit, hire and train and manage your own team of casual event staff (Event Hosts)
- Manage incoming enquiries
- Attend weekly meetings about operational issues and events
- Manage the operations/logistics needs for each league, including equipment, supplies, condition of venues, and lighting.
- Meet all teams within leagues, by attending leagues each night
- Create an epic member experience by running social events, theme nights and fun activations throughout the season.
- Follow up on any incidents, low fun points ratings, and reports to manage member experience.
- Maintain consistent communication with all participants throughout the season
- Manage events calendar including social events and partner events
