Job Description
Background
Team GB is recruiting for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (OG’s).
We invite practitioners who meet the criteria set out in the job description to complete the online application process as an expression of interest to join the Team GB Headquarters (HQ) Performance Nutrition Team.
The online application will be open from Thursday 6th April until Friday 5th May 2023 (12.00pm midday)
The selection process will consist of:
• Candidates who can demonstrate they meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria are welcome to submit answers to the discipline-specific work sample questions on the Applied platform.
• These answers will be anonymised and then reviewed and scored in a random order by a panel of experts to facilitate the shortlisting process.
• The Applied platform also asks some demographic questions prior to starting your application. Team GB never sees the individual responses to those questions; we only see high-level summary statistics. If you prefer you can opt out of answering this section.
• Interviews will take place in London at the offices of The British Olympic Association (101 New Cavendish Street, W1W 6XH) or remotely via Microsoft Teams. Format to be advised.
• Appointments will be announced in June 2023.

Key Responsibilities:
• Working closely with the Lead for Performance Nutrition, be actively involved in the pre-Games planning process for performance dining and nutrition support strategies to be deployed at Team GB venues
• To provide the highest quality performance nutrition support to all athletes during their preparation & competition phase for the whole duration of the Olympic Games.
• To provide a responsive, accessible nutrition support service to all Team GB members, both in the Village, at competition and training venues, and any other location deemed appropriate to meet the requirements of the job role.
• To ensure a high standard of health promotion & preventative care in liaison with the athletes’ support staff (Medical Officer’s, Physio’s, Team Leaders and others), including advice on the prevention of illness.
• To liaise with other medical personnel, sports science staff and other support staff as required to ensure the highest standard of care of an athlete’s injury or illness and optimum rehabilitation and management, while always working within your professional guidelines on patient confidentiality.
• To promote drug-free sport and have a working knowledge of The World Anti-Doping Code.
• To refer to appropriate specialists and other members of the medical and clinical support team as appropriate in the lead-up to, and during the Games.
• To keep appropriate documentation and records of all consultations and to keep these records confidential and secure.
• To provide reports on performance nutrition activity within the village or other locations as required.
Essential qualifications and experience:
1. Completed a recognised undergraduate degree in Nutrition, Dietetics (must be registered with HCPC) or Sport Science (BSc or the equivalent)
2. Completed a recognised postgraduate course of study in Sports Nutrition (IOC Diploma, PG Cert, PG Dip, or MSc)
3. Practitioner Registration with Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR) including Professional Indemnity Insurance cover
4. Current UKAD “Introduction to Clean Sport” Certificate
5. A minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience in the provision of specialist performance nutrition in an elite-sport environment
Desired Experience:
6. Currently working with elite summer sport athletes either through a HCSI appointment or directly with an NGB
7. Previous major games experience (World Champs, WUG; CWG; EG; OWG; OG)
8. An understanding of the BOA standard operating procedures during Games-time
Desired personal attributes:

Relationships & Interfaces: Works closely with Team GB HQ Performance Services colleagues, Team GB Performance Services Managers at Preparation Camp and Performance Lodge, NGB nutrition colleagues, and all NGB support staff & Team Leaders.
Hours of Work: Working hours will be as required to fulfil the role and its significant fluctuating demands throughout the Olympic Games.
The post-holder will be required to acknowledge this and work in a flexible manner to accommodate all requests where appropriate.

• A full UK driving licence may be advantageous
