Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Rugby Football League, the national governing body for Rugby League in the UK. We oversee the England Rugby League teams (men, women & wheelchair) programmes, the Betfred Challenge Cup Rugby League’s national knock out competition with its final at Wembley Stadium live on the BBC as well as the Betfred Championship and League One. We are seeking to appoint a Technology Support Engineer based at our office in Manchester.

Principal duties will include:

• Assist with configuring hardware and software according to company requirements.
• Perform installations of PC/Mac/Server based software, hardware, etc.
• Assist in inducting new starters and provide training where necessary.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft/Office 365/email systems and applications.
• Assist in providing a conferencing AV solution, for VIP meetings and events, when needed.
• Support and configuration of telecommunications systems, mobile and VOIP.
• Maintain an asset system of hardware and software, perform audits on RFL technological devices.
• Prioritise support requests that are submitted via call, email, etc., keeping users updated of the progress throughout and escalating issues to Technology Manager where necessary.

In order to be successful, you will need:

• Previously worked in an IT/technology support role.
• Experience of Microsoft & Apple operating systems, mobile & desktop.
• Experience of Microsoft/Office 365 suite of applications and anti-virus solutions.
• Experience in setting up, configuring, and diagnosing consumer technology equipment including, but not limited to, laptops, desktops, smart phones, tablets, routers.
• Good interpersonal skills and able to deal with people at all levels.
• A passion for the sporting industry would be desirable, particularly Rugby League.
