Job Description
Programs
To write, coordinate and provide programs that meet the needs and the level of the athletes. Programs must meet standards that are set by the club, GSA and GA and are to reflect progress and safety. To monitor all programs in place and evaluate their effectiveness and progression on a regular basis.
Services
To provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment to the athletes, parents/caregivers, other club members and volunteers.
Knowledge
To have and provide technical knowledge on the following subjects up to and including international standards:
- Skill development
- Up to date knowledge on state and national level systems
- Coach education
- Requirements for state and national competitions
- Gymsport safety
Development
To provide opportunities for future development of the gymsport section by mentoring future coaches.
Facilities
To be responsible for the equipment used throughout the session and to ensure it is packed up appropriately and stored in the designated area. To keep the facility clean and tidy.
Maintaining a team environment
To respect the nature of the club, its facilities, other employees and sections. To address issues of concern first with the persons involved, then through the gymsports manager. To maintain communication and collaboration with the other club sections to keep it running smoothly, efficiently and friendly. To ensure personal discussions occur outside of the training/parent area and training times. To complete an annual Performance Development Review.
Staff and Athlete Supervision
To supervise assistant coaches, volunteers and administration staff. To coach and care for athletes in a safe and effective method. To encourage personal development of coaches.
Administration:
Communication
To check emails and respond to all messages in a timely manner
To work together with member services to keep all administration records applicable to the appropriate gymsport current and up to date. This is to include:
- Program documentation
- Accident report forms
- Competition entry forms
- Attendance records
Other Duties:
- To have knowledge of and adhere to the TTGG procedures and policies including; Pandemic, Social Media; Entering/Exiting Building; Coaching Responsibilities; Codes of Behaviour; First Aid; Fire; and Equipment Policies/Procedures.
- Attend and contribute to events conducted by the club from time to time.
- Assist the Club Management and Board of Directors as required.
It is recognised by the coach that there are pro bono responsibilities including but not limited to; competitions, unfilled classes, planning and meetings.
