Venue Technology Coordinator – 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships
£31,578.25 – £36,678.29

Glasgow Life is looking for a Venue Technology Coordinator to join us on a full time, fixed term contract up to the end of August 2023. As Venue Technology Coordinator you will be joining our in-demand Events team supporting the delivery of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships team.

Glasgow Life is the strategic lead for events in the city. The team invests to attract, create and grow major cultural and sporting events. We deliver high-profile events, including the Merchant City Festival and Glasgow Mela. Our team also organise the World Pipe Band Championships and Glasgow’s winter events. We are preparing to deliver the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships in 2023. We are also coordinating a programme of activities as the European Capital of Sport 2023. And we are building a team to deliver the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024. Our team work on behalf of the Glasgow Events Board. We act as an initial point of contact for events coming to the city. This includes working with local, national and international partners to maximise the benefits of events to the city. We aim to position and promote Glasgow as a world-leading event destination. Events boost the city’s tourism economy and provide memorable moments.

In 2023, Glasgow and locations across Scotland will host the UCI Cycling World Championships. The event brings together 13 world championships into one. Glasgow Life will deliver the sport competition, events and additional programmes in the city on behalf of the Cycling World Championships. We are expanding our team to deliver the world’s biggest-ever cycling event. Glasgow leads the way in hosting major cultural and sporting events. By using world-class facilities we’ll deliver 8 cycling disciplines. This will bring new ideas, partnerships and initiatives to the city. The role
As a Venue Technology Coordinator you’ll be an integral part of the team by supporting the delivery of all agreed technological responsibilities which Glasgow has been tasked with in order to successfully deliver the Championships. You will report to the Venue Technology Manager and working alongside a dedicated project team.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Venue Technology Coordinator you’ll need:
• Significant previous experience of a planning, delivery and operational roles at large sporting or similar events.
• Experience of technology delivery within a fast-paced work environment
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills
• Good knowledge of, and proven practical ability for planning, monitoring, and controlling a related portfolio of projects
• Ability to make key operational decisions in-line with delegated authority.

Some of our roles are currently piloting hybrid working, with teams working between the office and home. Your line manager will agree these days with you. This balance enables you to continue much-needed collaborative working.
Our Albion Street office has great links to public transport
This role is initially working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday with some demand during Championship delivery
