Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate web developer to join our team. You’ll be working hands-on across a number of products from backend APIs, building innovative products whilst maintaining existing ones, to frontend statically built websites. You’ll be helping us unlock the full potential and shape the way our systems are built and operate.
As Web Developer, you will develop and maintain a complex and growing IT environment, serving the needs of the triathlon community. This will include developing new products, the secure integration and maintenance of existing infrastructure with any external solutions, and ongoing support to the British Triathlon team.
You will:
• Support the Lead Web Developer to deliver an outstanding IT environment, serving customers both internally and externally;
• You will be able to deliver high-quality code and be able to build reliable and scalable applications;
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile/DevOps environment;
• Develop, implement, and maintain secure back-end products, including payment systems;
• Assist with the integration and maintenance of third-party APIs into the developing network;
• Develop and maintain secure APIs, meeting Open Data Institute (ODI) standards for sports data integration;
• Monitor existing code and advise on improvements, providing bug fixes where issues are identified.
We’re searching for someone with a real passion for web development, who enjoys collaborative working, and who can draw on their skill and experience of using and developing a range of IT packages (such as Linux, Apache, My SQL) to provide quality services to our organisation.
Our new Web Developer will report to the Senior Web Developer. The successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the Digital Transformation & IT team.
The role will benefit from our successful hybrid working model, where Tuesday to Thursday all colleagues work from our Loughborough head office, providing a supportive, collaborative, and fun working environment, with flexible working on Mondays and Fridays to enable you to work from home as work commitments allow.
British Triathlon offers a competitive benefits package which includes:
• 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service, enhanced with a flexible holiday buying scheme
• A commitment to your development, with weekly and monthly time ringfenced for personal and collaborative learning and development
• 2 days paid volunteer leave
• Free and accessible parking outside the Loughborough head office, and secure covered bike storage
• Pension scheme, life assurance scheme, and private medical insurance to care for you and your loved ones
• Support for a healthy lifestyle, including discounted gym membership and a cycle to work scheme
British Triathlon is passionate about developing an environment that makes Britain the world’s leading triathlon nation, enabling success and increasing participation. We’re looking for someone who can bring skills and ambition to an inclusive, people-centred workplace, who is determined to create positive impact, and who values doing what’s right above doing what is expected.
